Update: Tragic accident on Ranchero Road

Update 4:51PM. Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer has confirmed that the little girl who was found in a pond this morning, by Ranchero Road, has passed away.

She had just turned 3 years old and was born in February of 2015. She had gotten out of her family’s sight and while frantically looking for her, they called Kerr County Sheriff’s Department. A KCSO Officer arrived on scene, found her, started CPR and notified EMS.

They are conducting an investigation but are looking at this solely as a tragic accident at this time.

Sheriff Hierholzer said that him and the entire Kerr County Sheriff Department are hurting for this little girl and her family during this very hard time for the entire community.

According to official sources, a young female child who had been reported missing this morning was found in a pond next to Ranchero Estates south of Kerrville.

Her condition is unknown at this time.
