Local UPS driver stops and saves kid who wrecked his ATV

It was Saturday afternoon around 3pm, when a 10 year old boy riding a 4 wheeler ran into a fence on Ranchero Rd. The boy had suffered a serious laceration to his upper leg from his leg getting caught between the clutch handle and metal fence and was bleeding profusely.

Local UPS driver Timothy Boothby (who was not working at the time) and his wife saw him and stopped. Timothy’s emergency training instincts kicked in and since he is always prepared

Emergency crews responded initially to a call about a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the 1200 block of Ranchero Road. It turned out to be a 10 year old boy who had ran into a metal fence on an ATV.

The boy suffered a large laceration to his right upper leg and hit a main artery. Emergency crews used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok
